Run the Rock Marathon, Half-Marathon & 8 km
11th Annual Run – August 18, 2024! Run the Rock has been an annual event on Texada Island since 2011. This event includes a challenging Marathon course which includes much off road, scenic running, a Half Marathon and an 8km run/walk. We have had runners participate from all over the world; New Zealand, Bermuda, Germany, UK, and USA, as well as from all across Canada. Run the Rock has been supported over the years by approximately 60 – 70 loyal local volunteers. Registration is open for 2024! Contact info@runtexada.ca with any questions.
Texada Blues & Roots Festival
8th Annual Festival – August 3 & 4, 2024! Celebrating music and our region. Most of our performers are local – from within 100 km of Gillies Bay. We have a diverse group of performers for your enjoyment while showcasing Texada Island, the largest island in the Gulf Island chain. Texada is unique, picturesque and diverse. If you are camping, enjoy our 400 acre Shelter Point Park. While here, visit the falls, learn our history at a first rate museum, or cool off with a swim.
