Texada Island United Church
The first church on Texada Island was built and dedicated in June of 1900, and was named the Texada Presbyterian Church.
With church union in 1925, the congregation voted to join the new United Church of Canada – a union of Congregationalist, Methodist, and Presbyterian Churches across Canada. The name was changed to Texada Island United Church.
The United Church on Texada has been serving this community for over one hundred years. Marriages, funerals, Christenings, and baptisms are performed right here on the island. Christian education, both adult and for children and youth, has always been a part of our mission.
We are a community church – and have always respectfully served a variety of Christian denominations.
Our mission statement is: to foster spiritual development of all members of our community as revealed in the Bible.
